Marian Character of Carmel
The Carmelite Order is wholly Marian. We pledge ourselves to the service of Our Lady, and are under her protection. She is our Queen and Mother, as well as our Model, for she always said fiat – yes – may it be – to the will of God, and pondered in her heart all the mysteries she was privileged to witness in the life of Her Divine Son.
Discernment of a vocation is open to all practicing lay Catholics – married or single – as well as to secular priests and deacons who feel an attraction to the Order. The minimum age for acceptance in the U.S.A. is 18 years of age.
